CADAVER screened at Pixar today! In attendance were Jonah D. Ansell, Amanda Dunham Ely, Carina Simmons, Abraham Dieckman, and Timothy Hahn. A big thank you to Timothy, the film’s Editor and Production Manager for making the arrangements. It was incredible to watch the film in a Pixar screening room with some of our animation heroes!

At one of the most highly anticipated and exclusive events of New York Fashion Week, Tavi Gevinson performed a stunningly beautiful cover of Neil Young’s Heart of Gold that was followed by a private screening of CADAVER.

Mad scientists in lab coats served drinks in beakers, spun cotton candy and popped popcorn while guests danced the night away.

World Premiere at SBIFF

Cast & Crew celebrated the CADAVER World Premiere at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on January 27. The festivities included dinner, a screening followed by a Q&A with Jonah D Ansell (Writer/Director), Amanda Dunham Ely (Producer), Carina Simmons (Character Design), Eric Vennemeyer (Art Director), and Chris Thomas (Original Score) as well as an after-party at Blush for friends and family.

CADAVER confectionaries included an amazing cake featuring the CADAVER poster and heart-shaped red velvet whoopie pies in jars.

Production for CADAVER started in Santa Barbara when cast & crew headed to Playback Recording Studio to record Christopher Lloyd (Cadaver), Ashley Ann Hale (Krista) and Medeni Griffiths (GPS). It was beyond surreal to return to Santa Barbara less than a year later for the World Premiere!

Jonah D. Ansell is an award-winning MFA graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and a magna cum laude graduate of Amherst College. He currently serves as CEO & Chief Storyteller at JAMS, a boutique, L.A.-based production company, where he develops stories and scripts for ﬁlm and TV. A former NCAA pitcher whose ability to throw a 92-mph fastball was undercut by his inability to ﬁnd the strike zone, Ansell went on to launch and sell a humor magazine to National Lampoon at age 25 and write/produce the award-winning short ﬁlm First Bass, filmed on-site at Chicago’s Wrigley Field, starring Tavi Gevinson, Strangers With Candy’s Gregory Hollimon and Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner American Movie’s Mark Borchardt. First Bass was featured at over 30 festivals worldwide (US, UK, Mexico, Canada, Australia, France, Italy) winning multiple best film awards, while showcasing music from Tom Waits, The Go! Team, Amiina and Andrew Bird.
