Jonah D. Ansell

Jonah D. Ansell is an award-winning MFA graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and a magna cum laude graduate of Amherst College. He currently serves as CEO & Chief Storyteller at JAMS, a boutique, L.A.-based production company, where he develops stories and scripts for film and TV. A former NCAA pitcher whose ability to throw a 92-mph fastball was undercut by his inability to find the strike zone, Ansell went on to launch and sell a humor magazine to National Lampoon at age 25 and write/produce the award-winning short film First Bass, filmed on-site at Chicago’s Wrigley Field, starring Tavi Gevinson, Strangers With Candy’s Gregory Hollimon and Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner American Movie’s Mark Borchardt. First Bass was featured at over 30 festivals worldwide (US, UK, Mexico, Canada, Australia, France, Italy) winning multiple best film awards, while showcasing music from Tom Waits, The Go! Team, Amiina and Andrew Bird.
